Music has always played a key role in the Christian faith. From the very beginning the church has sung praises to God. This is certainly true at Central Christian Church, which offers a variety of musical styles and groups.
Music in our 8:30 service takes a more traditional route. Worship is led by an organ and special music, typically, by piano. The church choir also sings at various points in the service in the fall, winter and spring. During the summer, the congregation is blessed by special music that may come in the form of different instruments, solos and ensembles. We also have a Bell Choir that plays several times each year.
During the 11:00 service, our music takes a more modern, or contemporary, flair. Music in the 11:00 service is led by a praise team that is made up primarily of drums, guitars and singers. In addition, individual members of the praise team--as well as others from the congregation--may sing or play at various points of the service.
In addition, special worship services are held during the course of the year that draw upon the musical gifts of many within the congregation.
