
Interim Minister Deborah Owen
Deborah Owen began as Central's Intentional Interim Minister on July 2, 2007. A native Hoosier, she is a graduate of Indiana University and Midwestern Baptist Seminary.
She is half way through a Doctorate in Biblical Studies from Trinity Seminary. Deborah has served in called pastorates, campus ministry and interims in Indiana, Missouri, and Illinois. Ordained in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), she holds partner standing in the United Church of Christ, and has been a corresponding member of the Presbyterian Church USA.
She, her husband, Kevin Frings, and daughter, Abbi, live in Champaign, Illinois where Kevin has an accounting business, and Abbi is a junior high student. Deborah teaches part time in the Religious Studies program at Parkland College.
Deborah is passionate about her love of God, and the people whom God loves. She is eager to introduce people to Jesus Christ, and to serve to bring grace and justice into each person's life. For relaxation, Deborah enjoys reading, walking, swimming, travel, and time with family and friends.
